Capture the moment: Don’t forget your camera or smartphone with great camera! The island’s stunning scenery and vibrant street art are perfect for creating lasting memories.

Hydration is key: Stay refreshed in the tropical climate by drinking plenty of water. Carry a reusable water bottle to stay hydrates as tap water is safe to drink Tip: put a pitcher of tap water in the refrigerator. The water from the tap can sometimes be warm! 

Snorkeling essentials: The underwater world around Curacao is a treasure trove of marine life. Pack your snorkeling gear and discover vibrant coral reefs teeming with colorful fish. Visit Playa Lagun, Playa Porto Marie, Playa Kenepa Grandi or Playa Jeremi for a great underwater experience!

Weather-ready wardrobe: Pack light, but smart! The Caribbean sun is shinning bright. So bring plenty of sunscreen, breathable clothing and a hat to stay cool while exploring.

Language Love: Papiamento is the official language of Curacao. The language is a mix between Spanish, Portuguese, French, English and Dutch. While English & Spanish are widely spoken, learning a few basis Papiamento phrases will earn you smiles and nods of appreciation from the locals. For example:

Bon dia – Goodmorning

Bon tardi – good afternoon

Bon nochi – Good evening

See you! – Ayo!

Kon ta bai? – How are you?

Hopi bon! – very well

Kon yama bo? – What is your name?

Mosquitoes: Protect yourself from mosquitos by using repellent and wearing long sleaves and pants during dawn and dusk. It also helps a lot to start taking daily b12 vitamins 3 weeks before your vacation.

Currency Check: The official currency in Curaçao is the Netherlands Antillean guilder (ANG), but U.S. dollars are widely accepted. Notify your bank of your travel dates and consider exchanging some currency for convenience

Power up the right way: all of our rooms have a European 220v wall outlet and some of them also have a 110v wall outlet. If you want to be safe, make sure to bring the appropriate adapters to keep your device charged. And yes, of course we do have a few at the hotel as well.
