Some days just feel like they’re made for exploring. Not the kind of day where you check things off a list, but one where the journey surprises you, a little bumpy, a little wild and a whole lot of fun. That was exactly what we got on the Jeep Safari tourĀ that took us through CuraƧao’s hidden backroads, history, cool caves and finally, one of the dreamiest beaches on the island.

This tour blends nature, history and pure Caribbean relaxation into one adventure.

Off-road.

The day starts early. Coffee in your hand, sunscreen on and ready for whatever the island has in store. We hop into a luxury safari jeep (yes with music) and rumble our way out of town. The landscape out near San Pedro is totally different: dry, raw and dotted with towering cacti (cactus) that look like they’ve been watching over the land for centuries.

It’s bumpy, dusty and seriously fun. Besides the fun, the guide also tells you all about the former Military base that just to be here.

Our next stop is a limestone cave, hidden just beneath the surface of the island. We duck inside and everything changes, from bright heat to cool and silent darkness. Stalactites hang from the ceiling like frozen waterfalls and the guide shares stories about what happened here years ago.

Pssst, please don't speak too loudly, because the bats are sleeping and you really don’t want to wake them.

Remarkable history.

Just when we’re covered in dust, we arrive at Kas di Pali Maishi, a beautiful preserved kunuku house that offers a peek into what daily life on CuraƧao used to be like. The walls are made of cactus and clay, the furniture is simple and handmade and the stories that are told are truly special to hear.

We’re served a warm arepa di pumpunaĀ (a pumpkin pancake, soft and slightly sweet) and a refreshing awa di lamunchiĀ (local lime juice) that somehow tastes better than anything from a bottle.

And after learning all about the history it's time for:

The Beach.

Of course, no island adventure is complete without a dip in the sea. The final stop: Cas Abao Beach. And honestly, it feels like walking into a screensaver, soft white sand and the most beautiful turquoise water I have ever seen. Take a moment for yourself and be grateful.

We swam and snorkelled for a while. (You can borrow a snorkelling set).

You will receive a voucher for a refreshing drink and a sun lounger to relax on after all that exploring. If this isn't ultimate joy.

What I loved most? It wasn’t just one thing. It was the perfect combination of everything. The wild nature, the remarkable history and the beauty of the beach. You see sides of the island you’d never reach on your own. You'll leave with dusty shoes, full hearts and maybe a little extra sand in your bag.

If you're on CuraƧao and craving something beyond the usual beach day, this tour is it. Adventure, culture and Caribbean vibes, all wrapped into one unforgettable ride.
